Covington, Kentucky has appointed Dan Wohler as its new Communications Manager. Wohler, who grew up outside Boston, Massachusetts, developed an interest in storytelling and the importance of being well-informed from a young age. His parents emphasized reliable reporting and strong storytelling.

Reflecting on his childhood experiences, Wohler stated, "Thinking back to when I was a kid – seeing how my parents were captivated by the evening news – being informed was really important growing up in our household." He added that he found it noble to share information and represent those without a voice.

Wohler holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Communications from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. His professional background includes roles as a news producer with CNY Central in Syracuse, New York, and WCPO-TV in Cincinnati, Ohio. Most recently, he served as Communications Administrator at Middletown City School District.

In his new role, Wohler aims to inform Covington's residents about ongoing developments. "I’m excited about the trajectory of the city – I think it’s only ‘up,’” said Wohler. He highlighted projects like the new City Hall and Covington Central Riverfront neighborhood development.

Wohler expressed admiration for Covington's unique character: "People use words like quirky... if Cincinnati is Manhattan, then Covington is Brooklyn." He appreciates the city's diverse offerings and rich history.

Outside work, Wohler enjoys cooking and exploring local eateries with his fiancée Shelby. They have made the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky region their home along with their pet dog.

"While I’m not from here, we’ve really adopted this place as our home," said Wohler. He values community engagement and aims to contribute positively by spreading information about local events and stories.
