Michelle Fern | City of Covington Police Department

The City of Covington has welcomed a new addition to its police force. Michelle Fern, who brings with her a decade of law enforcement experience from various agencies in Ohio, was officially sworn in as a Covington Police Officer today.

The ceremony took place in the Covington City Commission chambers, where Mayor Joe Meyer administered the oath. Fern holds associate degrees in applied science-criminal justice and applied business-paralegal from the University of Cincinnati. Her previous work includes positions at UC Health and Oxford Township Police Departments.

Covington Police Chief Rob Nader expressed optimism about Fern's contribution to the team. "We are fortunate to have another experienced officer join our team and look forward to the positive work she will do," he stated while presenting her badge.

Fern is set to begin field training immediately and is expected to be active on duty within a few months.
