COVINGTON, Ky. – Halloween festivities are set to begin at the David Housley Pavilion in Randolph Park next week, with a call for participants of all ages to join in the fun. The Covington Parks and Recreation Department is organizing Pumpkin Carving Nights on October 23 and 24 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., where parents and children can showcase their pumpkin-carving skills.

The department will supply all necessary tools for creating jack-o-lanterns, which will be displayed at the annual Jack-O-Lantern Festival on October 26 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., also at the David Housley Pavilion. Participants can take their carved pumpkins home after enjoying the festival activities.

Festival-goers can look forward to face painting, a bounce house and slide, carnival games, a haunted TANK bus, arts and crafts, a costume contest, free food and drinks including hot dogs and hot chocolate, among other attractions.

"Every year our goal is to make this event bigger and better, and to reach more people in the community," stated Alicia Chappell, Recreational Program Coordinator for the city.

The event aims to foster community spirit by bringing neighbors together for an enjoyable experience with their families. "We want everyone to have a great time, connect with their neighbors, and leave with smiles on their faces and a lot of new memories," said Payton Hopkins, Covington Park Project Coordinator.
