One event of note is the Poetry & Light Bites Night at Juniper’s, a gathering that celebrates April as National Poetry Month. It will include open mic poetry sessions where participants can share their written works with an audience.
On Friday, Braxton Brewing Co. is hosting a Bike4Briar Pint Night Fundraiser. The event aims to raise awareness and funds for Angelman Syndrome, a rare neurogenetic disorder. Funds raised from pint sales will support research and advocacy for Angelman Syndrome, inspired by a child named Briar, who will be present at the event.
Saturday will see Purple Paisley, Local Artisan Shop, host "Murder, Mystery, and Masterpieces," featuring a book signing and reading by Dr. Kathy Hendley from her Teachers Lounge Series, specifically "Murder in the Masterpiece: A Teacher’s Deadly Lesson."
Dr. Matt McGlasson, a popular feline veterinarian, will hold a book signing at Purrfect Day Cat Café. His book, "How to Rate a Cat," promises to provide insights into the various attributes of cats, such as their "nose boops" and "toe beans."
Throughout the weekend, attendees can enjoy live music from a range of performers at various venues, including Molly Malone’s Irish Pub & Restaurant, the Madison Theater, and others.
The weekend will also feature a tech workshop, a wine tasting event, a farmers market, and Easter brunch offerings on Sunday at local establishments. Residents and visitors alike can find many ways to enjoy the vibrant community scenes that Covington has to offer over the next few days.
