Residents of Covington, Kentucky, can look forward to the annual Easter Egg Hunt taking place on Saturday, April 12. The event, organized by Covington Parks & Recreation, will occur at the Volpenhein Shelter in Devou Park and is free and open to the public.
The egg hunt will stretch over a two-hour period, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the park filled with thousands of plastic Easter eggs. These eggs will contain various treats, and children are encouraged to fill their baskets generously. Attendees should bring their own baskets for collecting eggs.
Additional attractions include games such as an egg toss and an egg spoon race, as well as a petting zoo, arts and crafts activities, and opportunities for photos with the Easter Bunny. Refreshments like hotdogs, popcorn, cotton candy, and drinks will be available.
“I enjoy this event because it brings people from all over Covington together to celebrate Spring,” stated Covington Recreational Program Coordinator Alicia Chappell. “I love seeing the joy that this event brings when a child pets a bunny for the first time at the petting zoo or the excitement on everyone’s faces when it is finally time for the big egg hunt.”
