Today marks Galentine's Day, with Valentine's Day following on Friday. Residents and visitors in Covington, Kentucky, have numerous options to celebrate these occasions.
At Handzy Shop + Studio, the Galentine’s Sip + Shop Charm Bar offers an opportunity to create personalized charm bracelets. Attendees can choose up to seven charms from a variety of colors, shapes, sizes, and themes. The event also features free refreshments, live music, and mini pop-ups such as tarot readings.
Braxton Brewing Co. hosts Galentine’s Ladies Night in the Loft tonight. The event includes a catered dinner by Dewey’s Pizza, unlimited select cocktails, Braxton beer and wine, bingo, dancing with DJ Nat Jones, and a chance to win an igloo reservation. Additionally, attendees can design their own custom hats at the Hat Bar.
On Friday at Old Kentucky Bourbon Bar (OKBB), Valentine’s Day celebrations include drink specials and themed cocktails. For those experiencing heartbreak, OKBB provides a "Get-Over-Your-Ex" playlist.
Saturday brings the "What Home Means to Us – Quilt Workshop" at Kenton County Public Library. Organized by Kentucky Tenants and the NKY Chapter of Kentuckians for the Commonwealth, this workshop invites participants to share housing experiences through quilt-making using plant-dyed fabric.
Live music events are scheduled throughout the weekend across various venues including Smoke Justis and Molly Malone’s Irish Pub & Restaurant on Thursday; Juniper’s and Madison Live on Friday; Madison Theater on Saturday; and Juniper’s again for Sunday brunch.
Additional activities include performances of "Seussical" at The Carnegie from Friday through Sunday and other community events like the Covington Farmers Market at Braxton Brewing Co. on Saturday.
