Beyond English, 21% of students Holmes High School met the reading college readiness benchmarks in the 2022-23 school year. Additionally, 11% were considered college-ready in math.
Holmes High School is the only school located in Covington Independent School District.
In 2024, Kentucky ranked third among states testing 100% of their students on the ACT, with an average score of 18.6. However, NAEP scores indicate that Kentucky students have performed slightly worse in core subjects since 2019, particularly in math, where proficiency has dropped by nearly 10%.
