Covington Catholic has advanced to the state quarterfinals and is set to face the Boyle County Rebels on Saturday, November 23.
The Colonels secured a victory with a score of 42-14 in Round 1 of the playoffs on November 8. Following this, they competed against Johnson Central, narrowly winning with a score of 14-13 in Round 2 on November 15.
Boyle County completed a perfect season with a record of 12-0, placing first in the season's rankings. In contrast, Covington Catholic concluded their season with a record of 10-2, positioning them in seventh place above teams they have defeated in the initial two rounds.
Boyle County won Rounds 1 and 2 with respective scores of 50 and 41 points over their rivals.
