Kenton County announces start of annual holiday letter exchange program
Dave Schroeder Library Director | Kenton County Public Library

Kenton County Parks & Recreation, in partnership with the Kenton County Public Library, is set to launch its annual "Letters To Santa, Letters From Santa" initiative on Monday, November 18th. This program allows children to send letters to Santa Claus and receive personalized responses by Christmas.

Santa Express Mailboxes will be placed at all three Kenton County Public Library branches, the Kenton County Government Center in Covington, the Historic Kenton County Courthouse in Independence, and Kenton County Animal Services. These mailboxes will be accessible from November 18th until December 16th during regular business hours. No postage is required for letters submitted at these locations.

Participants are reminded that while Santa knows where each child resides, accurate and legible home addresses are essential for postal delivery. Each child at a given address will receive a unique letter from Santa.

The program is free of charge; however, participants are encouraged to donate non-perishable food or personal care items for Be Concerned when dropping off their letters. Last year, nearly 1,900 letters were collected along with 435 donated items for Be Concerned.

Acknowledgment goes to Archways McDonald’s, Independence Cleaners, and Jude’s Custom Exhaust, Auto Repair & Towing in Independence for their ongoing support of this community event.
