Covington, Ky. – Covington Parks & Recreation is set to open its swim facilities this Saturday, offering a pool program for children in the area. The opening day events will take place at Randolph Pool, located at 8th and Greenup Streets, and the Bill Cappel Splash Pad at 43rd Street and Decoursey Avenue. Both locations will feature treats and games.

Residents of Covington can obtain free pool passes by presenting identification that confirms their residency, such as a driver's license or a piece of mail with their address. Passes must be renewed annually.

“It’s going to be another exciting season with lots of fun activities,” said Greg Stacy, Manager of Covington Parks & Recreation.

The opening day festivities are scheduled from noon to 2 p.m. at Randolph Pool and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Bill Cappel Splash Pad. The facilities will remain open daily from June 7 through August 3, between noon and 6 p.m., depending on weather conditions.

Additionally, children can participate in "Cov-Tivities," which include games and arts and crafts sessions held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. These activities will take place at either Randolph Pool or Bill Cappel Splash Pad according to the following schedule:

- Mondays: Bill Cappel Splash Pad

- Wednesdays: Randolph Pool

- Fridays: Alternating between Bill Cappel Splash Pad and Randolph Pool
